HNHS softball team loses heartbreaker to Logansport, 1-0

Maureen Lund’s strong pitching effort wasn’t enough to secure a win for the Huntington North High School varsity softball team as it fell to Logansport, 1-0, on Tuesday, May 12.

Lund pitched seven innings, allowing only three hits and two walks, while striking out seven batters.

HNHS never got the ball rolling offensively, as it also only got three hits, one each from  Jordie Close, Lund and Lauren Chanley.

The hosts scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the seventh on a double, two walks and a Huntington North error.

Despite a solid offensive performance, Huntington North High School's JV softball team still came up short to Logansport, 10-6, on Tuesday, May 12.

Top performers on the night were Peyton Pike, who went 3-4 with two RBI; Taylor Hiers, 2-4 and one RBI and Julia Grover, 2-3, with two runs scored.

Pitcher Brittany Sork took the loss.

The team's record is 11-3 on the season.
