HNHS girls' track team loses to Columbia City

The Huntington North High School varsity girls' track and field team squared off against Columbia City, on Thursday, April 23, falling 78.3 to 53.3.

First place finishes were awarded to Alyssa Hurlburt in 400-meter dash and long jump and Alli Harris in the discus and shot put.

Placing second were, Mariah Town, 100-meter dash; Asheley Chaney, 300-meter hurdles; Cora Frame, 200-meter dash; Olivia Eckert, 800-meter run and Gretchen Spahr, 3,200-meter run.

Third place was awarded Frame, 100-meter dash; Molly King, 1,600-meter run; Leisl Davenport, discus; Kiela Clore, shot put; Natalie Spahr, 800-meter run; Kaitlyn Teusch, pole vault; and King, 3,200-meter run.

The team of Hacker, Nicole Smith, Eckert and Natalie Spahr won the 4 x 800-meter relay. The team of Frame, Jamison, Town and Rachel Herr won the 4 x 100-meter relay.

The girls' junior varsity track and field team of Huntington North High School battled Columbia City on Thursday, April 23, winning 52-41.

First place winners were, Chandelle Snyder, 100-meter dash; Katie Shomo, 300-meter hurdles; Kayla Lund, shot put; Paige Widener, discus; Amanda Gates, long jump; and Nicole Smith, 800-meter run.

Second place was awarded to Cierra Boyd, 100-meter dash; Alison Louthan, discus; Widener, shot put and Tonya Albertson, 800-meter run.

Finishing third were Kelly Ditzler, 1,600-meter run; Katlyn Stebing, discus; Candice Wright, shot put; Jillian Fetters, 800-meter run; and Sara Karst, 200-meter dash.

The team of Adrienne Fusselman, Snyder, Kayla Schenkel and Shelby Boxell placed second in the 4 x 100-meter relay.
