HN gymnasts take loss at first meet

The Huntington North High School girl’s gymnastics team hosted DeKalb High School, along with a lone East Side High School opponent Brielle Carter, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, marking HN’s first meet of the season.

The Lady Vikings fell to DeKalb, ending the evening with a score of 103.425 to 97.075.

Notable competitors included Emily Manry taking third place in vault with a score of 8.400, Olivia Hartup taking second place on bars with a score of 8.050 and Janna Teusch placing third on beam with a score of 8.650.

DeKalb dominated in the floor exercise, taking first, third and fourth places in Lauren Blythe, who scored 9.125, Allison Burton, scoring 8.675 and Sarah Boyd scoring 8.550, respectively.
