Updates for HN winter sports

Updates and changes have been made to the Huntington North High School athletics schedules and attendance policies for winter sports due to a rise in COVID-19 cases and exposure within the community.

Several cancellations and postponements have been made to the HNHS athletics schedule thus far, with the majority of changes being made to the girls’ basketball team schedule.

Two upcoming girls’ basketball games, on Tuesday, Nov. 17, against Carroll, and Friday, Nov. 20, against Whitko, will not be open to ticket sales from the public. Each roster player and cheerleader will be given a limited number of vouchers for immediate family to purchase at the ticket gate. No passes will be accepted.

The girl’s swimming competition on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Bluffton High School, will not accept fans. Fans will also not be accepted at the Tuesday, Nov. 24, competition for the boys and girls’ teams at Canterbury.

The boy’s basketball competition against Bluffton that was scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19, has been canceled.

Information about guidelines for spectators at away games will be provided to coaches from the HNHS athletic department. Schedule updates and spectator policies may be found on the HNHS athletic website, hnhs.hccsc.k12.in.us/athletics, and on HNHS social media pages like Facebook and Twitter.

Current schedules for each winter team may be found on the HNHS athletics website by clicking on the desired team and choosing the schedule for each team level. Changes are also posted to the REMIND 101 text alert system and the HNHS Twitter feed as they occur.
