HN tennis takes another NE8 win

The Huntington North High School boys’ varsity tennis team kept their NE8 winning streak alive, competing against Norwell High School at home on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Out of five games, the Vikings only gave up one to their opponents.

In singles play, Carson Kitchen competed against Norwell’s Krew Bussel, winning with scores of 6-0 and 6-2. Chase Mickley faced off against Kellen Zimmer, scoring 6-3 and 6-4.

Huntington North’s Jacob Daugherty fell to Norwell’s Ethan Ottinger, ending the evening with scores of 6-3, 5-7 (12-10).

In doubles play, partners Noah Zahn and Thomas Schweller competed against Evan Zimmer and Augie Mann, resulting in scores of 6-2 and 6-1. Matthew Weill and Reid Eckert won over Norwell’s Tanner Felger and Brason Chaney, scoring 6-2 and 6-1.

Norwell found some success in junior varsity singles play, winning over HNHS in two competitions. Braeden Christiansen fell to Jaden Payne with a score of 6-2 and Dale Schweller fell to Kaden Graft with a score of 8-4. Huntington North’s Max Fusselman won over Payne with a score of 8-5.
