The Discover Roanoke run was held Saturday, June 6, in Roanoke, with several participants competing in one-mile, 5K and 10K races.

The event, a fund-raiser for the Roanoke Lions Club, was originally scheduled for April 18, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the one-mile race, Alivia Bruckner, 8, captured first place, clocking in at 8:36.7. Owen Warner, 13, was the top male finisher, placing third in 8:51.5.

The race’s male and female age group winners were:

11 and under
Micah Smith, 9:05.6; and Emmy Warner, 12:47.1.

20 to 35
Robyn Smith, 9:04.9.

36 to 49
Angela Bruckner, 8:48.6; and Nathan Randolph, 9:39.9.

50 to 64
Rebecca Zehr, 16:11.3.

The 5K race was topped by Grayson Welch, 15, who crossed the finish line in 19:12. The top female finisher was Hidi Gaff, 39, who earned runner-up honors in 19:15.9.

The race’s male and female age group winners were:

19 and under
Gretchen Witmer, 23:29.6; and Noah Warner, 23:56.1.

20 to 35
Hollyn Anderson, 22:36.7; and Chandler Neal, 22:36.8.

36 to 49
Tim Bruckner, 19:27.5; and Myra Witte, 29:19.2.

50 to 64
Jay Prichard, 22:52.6; and Cindy McGovern, 24:51.6.

65 and over
June Hinton, 52:17.8.

In the 10K race, Dalton Atchison, 25, earned first place with a time of 37:42.4. The top female finisher was Natalie Witmer, 19, who claimed ninth in 52:34.5.

The race’s male and female age group winners were:

36 to 49
Juan Salazar, 42:08.5; and Sadie Landrum, 1:06:34.4.
