County amateur golf tourneys to continue

The 2020 Huntington County Amateur Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, June 27, at Etna Acres Golf Course and Sunday, June 28, at Dogwood Glen Golf Course.
All tee times will be in the morning.

The tournament is open to Huntington County residents or members of a Huntington County golf course.

Classes will be divided into men qualifying for the championship flight on the first day. The top half of the field will be in the championship flight; the remainder will be divided between other flights.

Other classes include Seniors (50 to 59 years of age); Super Senior (60 to 69 years of age); Super-Super Senior (age 70 and above); and Ladies.

The format will be 36 holes stroke play, and certificates will be based on the number of entries.

An entry fee is charged, with carts and skins optional. Sign up and pay at either golf course. The deadline to enter is Thursday, June 25, at 5 p.m.

Additionally, Clear Creek Golf Course will host the 2020 Huntington County Junior Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 24. This tournament is also open to any Huntington County resident or member of a Huntington County course.

Age groups will be 14 to 17 years old and 10 to 13 years old. The older group will play 18 holes of stroke play, and the younger group will play nine holes.

Plaques will be awarded to the champion and runner-up in each age group.

An entry fee is charged. Golfers can sign up and pay at any of the Huntington County courses.
