Fryman comes up big in fourth as HU women top MVNU

Sarah Fryman hit an old-fashioned three-point play early the fourth quarter to give the Huntington University women’s basketball team a lead it wouldn’t give back as the Foresters topped host Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 76-70, on Saturday, Feb. 8.

The Foresters had trailed the Cougars since two minutes into the contest, but Fryman’s play put HU up 57-56 at the 8:45 mark of the fourth quarter and it was never headed again. Fryman notched 10 points down the stretch as HU improved to 19-7 overall, 8-6 in the Crossroads League.

Fryman finished with a game-high 33 points and led HU on the boards as well with 12 rebounds. Sam Hammel played wingman with 15 points and four steals.
