Lady Vikes lose lead, game to Bishop Luers

The Huntington North High School girls’ varsity basketball team lost a fourth quarter lead and subsequently the game, 51-46, to visiting Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on Tuesday night, Dec. 3.

The Lady Vikings, 5-3, held a 36-30 lead at the end of the third quarter, but got outscored in the final frame, 21-10. Thirteen of the Luers points came from the free-throw line.

Leah Campbell scored 13 points and Reece Colclesser had 12 to lead the Lady Vikes. Katelynn Arnold added 10 points and Taylor Double notched six.

Kennedy Glenn scored 15 points to place Luers, including eight in the final frame. Lydia Reimbold notched 12 and Janaiya Bright scored 10.

The Lady Vikes were ahead 10-8 after one period and led 24-17 at the half.

Grace Sell led the Lady Vikings on the boards with six rebounds and Arnold added five. Double had four assists and two blocks and Addy Wiley had two steals.

Bishop Luers also won the junior varsity contest, 25-18.

Paige McCutcheon scored four points to pace HNHS.
