Chesterman, Johnson, blaze to wins at 15th annual Turkey Trot

Elijah Chesterman, of Huntington, won the 5K portion of the Pathfinder Kids Kampus Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, in Huntington.

Chesterman, a Huntington University junior, crossed the finish line in 15:21.6.

Lauren Johnson, of Huntington, was the race’s top female competitor. Johnson, an assistant cross country coach at HU, clocked in at 16:59.8.

Winners by age group were:

14 and under
Caleb Skiles, of Huntington, finished first for the boys in 22:20.8. Allison Heine, of Fort Wayne, placed first for the girls in 22:01.4.

15 to 19
Aaron Hendryx, of Huntington, stopped the timer in 15:34.0 to take the boys’ title. Mallory Aker, of Bluffton, stepped over the end stripe in 21:58.4 to claim the girls’ title.

20 to 24
Collin Wesco, of Huntington, placed first for the men in 17:49.6. Molly Kinsey, of Huntington, took the top spot for the women in 25:25.8.

25 to 29
Jake Crosley, of Columbia City, clocked in at 18:35.3 to win the men’s race. Samantha Morton, of Indianapolis, turned in a time of 22:09.0 to top the women’s competition.

30 to 34
Nick Johnson, of Huntington, earned first for the men, finishing in 16:58.8. Rubi Glancy, of Huntington, was the No. 1 runner for the women, stopping the clock in 23:51.3.

35 to 39
Joe McFarren, of Liberty Center, posted a time of 18:29.3 to take first on the men’s side. Tiffany Heine, of Fort Wayne, produced a clocking of 22:51.8 to win the women’s race.

40 to 44
Diego Parise, of Fort Wayne, topped the men’s race in 20:24.9. Brandy McDevitt, of Columbia City, finished first for the women in 22:30.5.

45 to 49
Tom Hardin, of Fort Wayne, finished in 19:17.9 to place first for the men. Cari Hardin, of Fort Wayne, clocked in at 23:14.2 to be the top placer for the women.

50 to 54
Randy Foutch, of Fort Wayne, took the men’s race in 23:26.6. Amy Bechtold, of South Whitley, topped the women’s competition, stepping over the end stripe in 24:26.4.

55 to 59
Garrett Davenport, of Andrews, turned in a time of 22:10.0 to place first on the men’s side. Connie Gordon, of Churubusco, clocked in at 27:58.4 to win the women’s race.

60 to 64
Gary Steele, Osseo, MN, was the men’s top finisher in 23:36.4. Christie Sears, Indianapolis, was No. 1 among the women in 34:55.4.

65 and over
Jed Pearson, Fort Wayne, crossed the finish line in 24:48.6 to take the men’s race. Julie Carrier, of Huntington, stopped the timer in 35:06.3 to finish first for the women.
