Lady Vike Wiley nets 10th at state cross country championships

Huntington North High School’s Addy Wiley took 10th place individually at the Indiana State Girls Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute.

Running her first season of high school cross country, the HNHS sophomore turned in a clocking of 18:28.6 for her top 10 finish.

Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger senior Erin Strzelecki won the individual championship with a clocking of 17:22.9, beating runner-up Annalyssa Crain of Edgewood by more than 21 seconds.

Madeline Keller of Brebeuf Jesuit took third win 18:02.2, Karina James of Lowell was fourth in 18:04.3, Sophia Kennedy of Park Tudor was fifth in 18:09.7, Zoe Duffus of Carroll was sixth in 18:17.0, Katelyn Wasson of Zionsville was seventh in 18:19.7, Lily Cridge of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard was eighth in 18:21.7 and Brooke Dixon of Brownsburg placed ninth in 18:28.4.

Carroll, of Fort Wayne, was the team champion with 101 points, beating runner-up Zionsville by 42 points. Carmel was third with 162 points, Fishers was fourth with 192 and Columbus North was fifth with 195.
