Goshen slows Forester soccermen

Visiting Goshen slowed down the streaking Huntington University soccer team with a 3-2 defeat on Saturday, Oct. 12.

HU, 10-3-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the Crossroads League, never led n the contest, falling behind at the 2:08 mark on the first Goshen goal. The Foresters’ Jake Erlandson knotted the contest at 1-all on a goal at the 9:41 mark, with an assist by Caleb Sexton, but Goshen went in front to stay at the 17:58 mark.

The Maple Leafs pushed the margin to 3-1 in the 61st minute but Noah Stanford found back netting at 84:40 to draw HU within one by game’s end.

HU goalie Gabe Greenfield had two saves on the afternoon.

The Leafs Tomas Fonesca had 12 saves on the day.
