No. 2 Homestead makes quick work of Vikings at tennis regional

State second-ranked Homestead marched through the Huntington North High School boys’ tennis team in a 5-0 win in the Carroll Boys’ Tennis Regional on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The Vikings, finishing the season at 11-11, won only two games on the day as the mighty Homestead machine used only about 45 minutes to get the win.

Carson Kitchen at first singles lost 6-0, 6-1, while both Isaac Eckert and Jacob Daugherty were whitewashed at second and third singles, 6-0, 6-0. Eckert lost to Andrew Meier and Daugherty fell to Thaddeus Dressel.

At first doubles, Noah Zahn and Thomas Schweller were beaten by Bryant Zitlaw and Tim Steiner, 6-1, 6-0, and Matthew Weill and Reid Eckert at second doubles were blanked, 6-0, 6-0, by Landon Sather and Will Grinsfelder.
