Viking soccerboys cruise past CC in sectional opener

The Huntington North High School boys’ soccer team scored three goals in the first half and cruised to a 3-1 win over Columbia City in the opening round of the New Haven Boys’ Soccer Sectional on Monday, Oct. 7.

Seniors Tyler Christle and Peyton Miller and sophomore Brady Henline each put a ball behind the Columbia City keeper in the opening 40 minutes as HNHS improved to 11-5-1 on the season and moves to the Wednesday night game against Fort Wayne South Side.

Columbia City got one ball behind Viking goalkeeper Aidan Hosler in the second half. Hosler had four saves for the contest in getting the win.

Henline also had an assist on the night, as did Lucas Riggers.

South Side defeated Fort Wayne Wayne, 2-0, in the other opening round game.

South Side enters Wednesday’s game with a record of 4-8-1.
