Viking netboys gain sectional finals by dropping Bluffton

The Huntington North High School boys’ tennis team gained the finals of the Norwell Boys’ Tennis Sectional with a 4-1 win over Bluffton on Friday, Oct. 4.

The Vikings were led by No. 1 singles player Carson Kitchen, who whitewashed Mason Schwartz, 6-0, 6-0.

The Vikings, 10-10, got their other wins from third singles player Jacob Daugherty and both doubles teams.

Daugherty, a sophomore as is Kitchen, defeated Kaleb Riley, 6-4, 6-3.

The No. 1 doubles team of junior Noah Zahn and Thomas Schweller topped Tanner Cooley, 6-4, 6-0, and the second doubles team of sophomores Matthew Weill and Reid Eckert downed Wyatt Coriwell and Cooper King, 6-3, 6-2.

The only negative on the evening came at second doubles as senior Isaac Eckert fell to Ethan McEvoy, 6-7, 4-6.
