Concordia nips Vike netboys

Visiting Concordia nipped the Huntington North high School boys’ varsity tennis team, 3-2, on Monday, Sept. 9.

The Vikings, 3-4, got their wins at first singles and first doubles. Carson Kitchen in singles took down Ben Gerig, 6-3, 6-3, and the duo of Noah Zahn and Thomas Schweller topped Mason Pickett and Jon Pickett, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

The Vikings’ second doubles team of Matthew Weill and Isaac Eckert couldn’t quite get the job done, falling in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 2-6.

Jacob Daugherty at second singles fell to Jacob Felton, 3-6, 5-7, and Reid Eckert at No. 3 lost to Hunter Ehle, 1-6, 4-6.

The duo of Ross Young and Bryce Colclesser won 8-4 for the only Huntington North win in seven matches on the junior varsity side.
