HU distaff golfers sixth at Taylor

The Huntington University women’s golf team posted a score of 712 to place sixth at the eight-team Taylor University Players Club Invitational, played Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7, at The Players Club at Woodland Trails, in Yorktown.

After logging a score of 352 on Friday, the Foresters turned in a 360 on Saturday.

Betsy Schroeder and Alexandria Maris both fired a 166 to lead Huntington and share 16th place out of 45 golfers.

Rachel Blauert carded a 181 to claim 28th place for the Foresters. Katie Springer posted a 202 while Alayna Steely played just the second round, turning in a 98.

Taylor kept the title at home by firing a 603, followed by UNOH, 615; Asbury, 647; Purdue Northwest, 690; Mount Vernon, 700; Huntington, 712; Holy Cross, 730; and IU South Bend, 766.
