HU golfers 11th at Taylor Invite

The Huntington University men’s golf team logged a score of 644 to finish 11th out of 12 teams at the Taylor University Players Club Invitational, held Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7, at The Players Club at Woodland Trails, in Yorktown.

The Foresters tallied a 320 on Friday, followed by a 324 on Saturday.

Logan De Maa fired a one-over-par 73 on Saturday on the way to posting a 151 overall to pace Huntington with an 18th-place finish out of 63 golfers.

David Beck carded a 163 while Keith Mineer finished one stroke back at 164. Otto Bjartmarz shot a 166 to round out the Foresters’ scoring. Carter Roseboom registered a non-scoring 181.

Purdue Northwest won the title with a 300, followed by Taylor, 581; Holy Cross, 587; Wheaton, 604; Asbury, 604; St. Xavier, 607; Taylor B, 613; Mount Vernon, 614; Indiana Tech, 615; Holy Cross B, 623; Huntington, 644; and IU South Bend, 645.
