Haught wraps up career with 17th in LJ at state meet

Huntington North High School senior Ricky Haught wrapped up his high school athletic career by placing 17th in the long jump at the Indiana State Boys Track & Field Tournament on Saturday, June 1, at Indiana University in Bloomington.

Haught fouled on his first two attempts in what Huntington North Head Coach Scott Bower called the best-two looking jumps of Haught’s career. He then got off a clean jump of 21-07.25 in his career finale.

Pierce Thomas of Brownsburg was the state champion in the event with a leap of 23-11.50. Tayson Parker of Northwestern was runner-up with a jump of 23-10 and Kyle Stewart of Evansville Central was third with a leap of 22-02.25.
