Vikings' golf season ends at sectional

The season drew to a close for the Huntington North High School boys’ golf team with an eighth-place finish at the Warsaw Sectional on Friday, May 31, at Rozella Ford Golf Club, in Warsaw.

The Vikings were led by junior Graham Scher, who scored an 83. Senior Hank Pulver fired an 85, senior Sawyer Stoltz carded a 92 and sophomore Caden Brubaker posted a 93, capping the team’s score at 353.

Freshman Chase Mickley shot a non-scoring 102.

Culver Academies won the sectional title with a 300. Columbia City was runner-up with a 314 while Warsaw claimed the third and final advancing spot to regionals with a 318.

The top three golfers from non-advancing teams to qualify for regionals as individuals were Bryce Carmichael, of Plymouth, 74; Chase Butler, of Triton, 74; and Sean Bledsoe, of Columbia City, 75.
