Niswander helps Vikes get sixth at 9-10 Invitational

A second place finish by Harrison Niswander topped the results for the Huntington North High School boys’ track team at the Huntington North 9th & 10 Invitational on Saturday, May 11.

Niswander, a frosh, stepped over the end line in 4:48.2 to finish runner-up to Isaac Fuelling of Bellmont in the 1,600-meter run and help the Vikings to a sixth place finish among 12 teams.

Jackson Holzinger in the 200-meter dash, Zach Hubbartt in the high jump and the 400-meter relay team of Logan White, Holzinger, Hubartt and Micah Beal each collected third place points for the Vikings. Holzinger went :24.9 in the 200, while Hubbartt cleared 5-8 in the jump. The relay quartet was clocking in :46.9 for its third place.

The Vikings went 4-5-6 in the 800-meter run. Lawson Shearer placed fourth in 2:12.9, Connor Miller took fifth in 2:13.5 and Niswander finished sixth in 2:14.7.

The Vikings also got fourth place in the 1,600-meter relay as the team of Tony Clor, Miller, Shearer and Chris Covey hit the tape in 3:53.3.
The Vikings scored 49 points. Bellmont won the meet with 114 points. East Noble was runner-up with 99 points.
