HU trackmen fourth at Lancer Invite

The Huntington University men’s track team captured fourth place at the Lancer Invitational on Saturday, April 27, at Grace College.

The Foresters were led by Cameron Worsham, who topped the 100-meter hurdles in :15.57.

Andrew Zachary tallied points in the 400-meter run, third in :51.14, and 200-meter run, fifth in :23.26. The freshman also joined efforts with Heath Atkins, Peyton Depriest and Avniel Barrow to claim third in the 400-meter relay in :42.48.

Zach Williams tossed a personal best in discus, finishing fourth with a mark of 40.40 meters.

Two Foresters placed in the 5,000-meter run, with Nick Childs taking fourth in 16:49.62 and Kody Ahrens claiming fifth in 17:07.67.

Other top-five finishes for Huntington included Depriest in the 200-meter dash, third in :23.09; Adrien Gentie in the 1,500-meter run, third in 4:02.77; CJ Robertson in the 400-meter hurdles, fifth in 1:00.93; and the 3,200-meter relay team of Robertson, Gentie, Elijah Chesterman and Josiah Sovine, fourth in 8:52.14.

Marian tallied 136 points to win the meet. Grace was runner-up with 125 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan, 80.5; Huntington, 71; Bethel, 71; Trinity Christian, 51; Goshen, 49; Saint Francis, 41.5; and Grace Christian, 1.
