HU men compete in 2 different spots on Saturday

The Huntington University men’s track and field team split up and competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Indoor Classic and Anderson University Indoor Invitational, both of which were held on Saturday, Feb. 2.

At Indiana Wesleyan, Adrien Gentrie claimed fourth place in the mile run with a personal-record time of 4:30.03.

CJ Robertson and Elijah Chesterman also put forth fourth-place efforts. Robertson attained fourth in the 600-meter run in 1:23.91 while Chesterman achieved that same placement in the 1,000-meter run in a personal-record 2:38.57.

At Anderson, Huntington claimed second through fifth places in the 60-meter hurdles. Cameron Worsham earned runner-up honors in a personal-record :8.67. Justin Edwards took third in :9.23 while Graham Johnson and Adam Woods placed fourth and fifth in :9.48 and :9.91, respectively.

Huntington also had a good showing in the 1,000-meter run, with three Foresters rounding out the top five. Justin Ayres took third in 2:49.67, followed by Nick Childs, fourth in 3:00.81, and Cody Feisel, fifth in 3:15.59. Childs also placed fifth in the mile by posting a time of 4:54.79.

Huntington was represented in field events by Zach Williams, who took second in the weight throw with a toss of 13.57 meters. Woods, 3.80 meters, and Connor Nash, 3.80 meters, finished second and third, respectively, in pole vault.

Other top five finishes for Huntington included Avniel Barrow in the 60 meters, fourth in :7.11; Peyton Depriest in the 400 meters, third in :51.64; Andrew Zachary in the 400 meters, fourth in :53.38; Justin Edwards in the 800 meters, fifth in 2:16.88; Kody Ahrens in the 3,000 meters, fourth in 9:58.76; the 1,600-meter relay team A, second in 3:33.35; the 1,600-meter relay team B, fifth in 3:59.19; and the distance medley relay team, third in 11:33.02.
