Davidson a double-winner in swimboys' loss

Sophomore Cole Davidson was a double winner for the Huntington North High School boys’ swim team in a 96-58 loss to visiting Wabash on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Each of the four swimmers for HNHS picked up a victory as the Vikings took seven first places among the 12 events.

Davidson came out on top in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:32.36, and the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:12.88.

Freshman Colten Schulte won the 100-yard butterfly, in 1:12.25, senior Keegan Mautz took the 100-yard freestyle, in :58.61 and junior Nathan York won the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:12.34.

The four teamed up for the 200-yard relay win, touching home in 2:00.27, and later came back for the 200-yard freestyle win, in 1:50.43.

Mautz, Schulte and York also got second place points for the Vikings. Mautz was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:11.48, Schulte was second in the 50-yard freestyle, in :26.93 and York was runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:23.86.
