HNHS girl swimmers pick up six wins in loss to Oak Hill

The Huntington North High School girls’ swim team picked up six wins in a 110-73 loss to host Oak Hill on Monday, Jan. 7.

Senior Macy Lange and juniors Laney Shaw, Allie Aschliman and Alyssa Brinkman each picked up individual wins and teamed up for two relays victories as well.

Lange won the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:37.44, while Shaw won the 50-yard freestyle, in :28.31. Aschliman was tops in the 100-yard butterfly, in 1:05.96, and Brinkman took the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:15.10.

The four teamed up to win the 200-yard medley relay in 2:09.56 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:22.64.

Aschliman, Shaw and Lange also got second place points for the Lady Vikes, doing so in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively. Aschliman touched the wall in 2:15.09 in the 200 free, Shaw came home in 1:02.16 in the 100 and Lange went 1:21.79 in the breaststroke.

Brinkman added third place points for HNHS in the 50 free, touching in :30.43. Morgan Cogar placed third in the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:44.96.
