Schulte wins pair in swimboys' loss

Freshman Colten Schulte won a pair of races as the Huntington North High School boys’ swim team lost to host Oak Hill, 125-50, on Monday, Jan. 7.

Schulte won the 100-yard freestyle, in 1:00.40 and came back to grab the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:07.49, for half of the Vikings’ individual wins on the night.

Senior Keegan Mautz and junior Nathan York got the other solo wins. Mautz claimed the 50-yard freestyle in :26.76 and York took the 100-yard butterfly in 1:10.40.

The aforementioned trio added Cole Davidson and captured the 200-yard medley relay as well, winning in 2:01.22.

Mautz added a second place finish for HNHS, taking runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:59.29. Davidson was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:15.31.

York added a third in the 200-yard individual medley, doing so in 2:29.91, and Davidson was third in the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:20.10.
