Viking wrestlers claim crown at East Noble Invitational

The Huntington North High school wrestling team edge Manchester by 1.5 points to win the championship of the East Noble Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 5.

Individually, five Vikings took home championships to lead the team to 212 points. Viking champs were Preston Teusch at 113 pounds, Ricky Haught at 132, Cody McCune at 152, Charlie Agnew at 195 and Christian Graft at 220.

Runners-up for HNHS were Brady Lewis at 106 and Michael Kline at 138.

Trent Smith at 285 and Matthew Kline both placed third. Thomas Thompson at 170 and Jamie Blackstone at 182 placed fifth.

Manchester scored 210.5 points for its runner-up finish. Elkhart Central was third with 198 points, East Noble had 193.5, Fort Wayne South Side scored 165 and Fort Wayne Northrop tallied 126 points.
