HNHS swimmers lose to Blackford

The Huntington North High School boys’ varsity swim team fell to host Blackford, 98-47, om Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Cole Davidson and Colt Schulte each logged first and second-place finishes for the Vikings. Davidson, a sophomore, won the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 6:15.98, and was runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:20.29. Schulte, a freshman, triumphed in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:09.31 and claimed second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:23.94.

Schulte and Davidson teamed up with senior Keegan Mautz and junior Nathan York to win the 400-yard freestyle relay. The quartet stopped the timer in 4:10.90. The foursome also competed in the 200-yard medley relay, placing second in 2:01.50.

Individually, Mautz put forth silver efforts in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle. The senior finished the medley in 2:31.78 and the freestyle in 1:00.89.

York rounded out Huntington North’s top-three finishes. The junior captured second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:11.97 and third in the 50-yard freestyle in :25.58.
