Aschliman claims lone Lady Vike win in swim team loss

Junior Allie Aschliman claimed the lone win of the meet for the Huntington North High School girls’ swim team in a 122-48 loss to visiting Columbia City on Monday, Dec. 3.

Aschliman claimed the 100-yard butterfly handily in 1:07.13, winning by more than six seconds.

Earlier in the meet she placed runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, touching the wall in 2:32.54.

She also swam legs on two runner-up relay teams, the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay. The former came home in 2:12.09 and the latter turned in a time of 4:12.01.

Laney Shaw grabbed a pair of runner-up finishes for HNHS. She touched home in :28.01 in the 50-yard freestyle and swam to a 1:02.37 in the 100-yard freestyle.

Senior Macy Lange placed third for HNHS in the 200-yard freestyle, touching in 2:25.20.

Joining Aschliman on the medley relay team were Alyssa Brinkman, Lange and Shaw. Shaw, Lange and Morgan Cogar made up the other legs of the freestyle relay.
