HU men break 2 records at Mastodon Open track meet

A pair of school records highlighted the efforts of the Huntington University men’s track team in a second place showing at the Mastodon Open hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Sophomore Peyton Depriest set a new school mark by wining the 300-meter dash in :36.35, while senior CJ Robertson claimed a new school mark of 1:24.57 in a third-place finish in the 600-meter run.

Elijah Chesterman and Luke Fillers also established new personal bests, with Chesterman’s coming in a second place finish in the 800-meter run, in 2:01.16, and Fillers going 13-5.5 for second place in the pole vault.

Aaron Hendryx also scored for HU, placing fifth in the mile in 4:34.75.

The HU men scored 24 points. Indiana Tech claimed the six-team meet with 61 points.
