Tom Rohr, of Rochester, streaked to victory on Thursday, Nov. 22, in the 14th annual Pathfinder Kids Kampus Turkey Trot.
Rohr, 19, won the overall title in the 5K with a time of 15:34.8, an average of 5:01 per mile. He was more than 15 seconds ahead of runner-up Nick Johnson, the Huntington University head cross country coach, who won the 30 to 34 men’s age group with a time of 15:50.1.
Yvette Rojas, 21, was the top female overall finisher with a time of 19:06.5. Huntington North High School senior Alena Miller was the second female and won the female 15 to 19 division with a clocking of 20:55.5.
Katelynn McMillan, of Montpelier, won the female 14 and under division with a time of 22:25.0. Corinne Zay, of Huntington, won female 20 to 24 in 24:52.0, Mariah Hamil, of Fort Wayne, won female 25 to 29 in 26:21.6 and Karen Killian, of Bryan, OH, won female 30 to 34 in 22:16.9.
Amber Lenwell, of Fort Wayne, won female 35 to 39 in 21:58.8, Christine Hendrickson, of Fort Wayne, won female 40 to 44 in 21:54.3 and Jama Fry of Fort Wayne, won female 45 to 49 in 23:19.3.
Venita Lawyer, of Fort Wayne, won female 50 to 54 in 26:36.8, Connie Gordon, of Churubusco, won female 55 to 59 in 28:14.8, Nancy Konzem, of Fort Wayne, took female 60 to 64 in 33:40.1 and Betty Nelson, of Columbia City won female 65 and over in 34:32.2.
Among the men, Chris Rohr, of Rochester, was first in the 14 and under division in 19:45.8, Aaron Hendryx, of Huntington, took 15 to 19 in 16:24.9 and Elijah Chesterman, of Huntington, won 20 to 24 in 17:06.1.
Eric Tippy won 25 to 29 in 19:28.5, Joe McFarren, of Liberty Center, captured 35 to 39 in 18:29.8 and Jeremy Nix, of Huntington, took 40 to 44 in 19:52.8.
Robert Edgeman, of Bluffton, won 45 to 49 in 22:09.1, Forrester Asher, of South Whitley, took 50 to 54 in 23:06.9, Daniel Fiorini, of Fort Wayne, won 55 to 59 in 18:13.8, Tim Deal, of Roanoke, captured 60 to 64 in 26:05.1 and Bill Aksamit, of Fort Wayne, won 65 and over in 27:13.3.
More than 1,100 people signed up for the event and the Turkey Trail one-mile walk.
