Season ends for HU soccerwomen

The season came to an end for the Huntington University women’s soccer team with a 2-0 loss to host Grace College in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League Tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

The Lancers, seeded second, scored both of their goals in the first half. The Grace defense then made that lead stick, keeping the seventh-seeded Foresters off the board in the second stanza to knock them out of the tourney.

Huntington, 5-13-1, 2-6-1 in league action, was limited to five shots, two of which were on goal. Senior Matea Knispel accounted for both of those scoring looks.

Grace, 17-2, 8-1 in league play, racked up 26 shots, 10 of which were on frame.

Forester goalie Autumn Demott made eight saves while yielding the Lancers’ pair of scores.
