Viking netboys slide past Bellmont

The Huntington North High School boys’ varsity tennis team slid past visiting Bellmont, 3-2, on Thursday, Sept. 13.

The Vikings, 7-5, got wins from singles players Adam Zahn and Carson Kitchen and the first doubles team of Isaac Eckert and Clark Kitchen.

Zahn, a senior, beat Nick Teeple, 6-3, 6-4, and Kitchen, a freshman, stopped Parker Braun, 6-1, 6-3. Eckert, a junior, and Kitchen, a senior, defeated Noah Zimmerman and Mason Vrabic, 6-0, 6-1.

Thomas Schweller at first singles lost to Cole Schifferly, 1-6, 2-6. The second doubles team of Spencer Atkinson and Noah Zahn lost to Preston Siefring and Joe Menoza, 5-7, 3-6.

The Huntington North junior varsity won, 6-1.

HNHS wins came from singles players Gregory Miller, Jacob Daugherty and Alex Kramer, and the doubles teams of Drew Kreiger and Max Gilpin, Nick Johnson and Reid Eckert and Bryce Thompson and Chase Mickley.
