Shift inside doesn't matter to Forester netwomen

A shift inside didn’t faze the Huntington University women’s tennis team in the least as it lost only 12 games on the day in a 9-0 sweep over host Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Monday, Sept. 10.

Anastasiia Evstifeeva and Marla Odendahl didn’t give up a game all day, both shutting out their opponents in singles and teaming up for a shutout in doubles as the Foresters lmproved to 4-1 on the season.

Evstifeeva at fourth singles topped Laurel Sidle, 6-0, 6-0, and Odendahl at No. 6 did the same to Sarah Young. The two Foresters then teamed up for an 8-0 blanking of Sidle and Aly Landis at third doubles.

Meg Dolde at first singles beat Casey Clark, 6-3, 6-1; Morgan Fitzpatrick at second singles took down Sarah Higgins, 6-3, 6-0 and Lisa Colling at third singles stopped Ashley Weber, 6-1, 6-1. Lana Singleton dropped Landis, 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, Dolde and Fitzpatrick at first defeated Weber and Higgins, 8-1, and Colling and Singleton at second beat Clark and Young, 8-1.
