HNHS netgirls lose third straight

The Huntington North High School girls’ tennis team lost its third straight match as it fell to visiting Norwell, 2-3, on Thursday, May 10.

The Lady Vikes, 11-4, got wins at third singles and first doubles.

Senior Tarah Zumbrun topped Grace White, 6-2, 6-2, at third singles, and the doubles team of juniors Macy Wohlford and Jule Nogaj stopped Madison Oaks and Sadie Mann, 6-3, 6-4.

At first singles, Jessica Henline fell to Breann Barger, 3-6, 2-6, and at second singles Kassidy Thompson lost to Molly Burton, 4-6, 4-6.

The second doubles team of seniors Braxtyn Maroney and Leann Ringernberg lost to Abby Hoover and Ashlee Xayyachack, 4-6, 1-6.

The Huntington North junior varsity team also lost, 4-7, to drop to 9-6 on the season.

Crosley Stanley got the lone HNHS win at singles. Doubles wins came from the teams of Emily Daas and Emily Bokel, Gabi Hanline and Julia Crist and Mary Young and Lindsey Hunt.
