JV baseball team goes 2-1 in recent games

The Huntington North High School junior varsity baseball team went 2-1 in games played on Saturday, May 5, and Tuesday, May 8.

On May 5, the Vikings split a doubleheader with visiting Warsaw, winning the first game, 7-3, before getting edged in the second, 9-8.

In the opening contest, Matt Schnepp pitched Huntington North to the win while Nick Johnson led the team at the plate with two hits.

The second tilt saw Mason Anderson take the loss for the Vikes. Schnepp paced the team offensively with a pair of base pokes.

On May 8, which saw Huntington North defeat host Leo, 10-0, pitcher Nate Hall highlighted the affair with a complete-game no-hitter.

Hall’s defense came to play, with the biggest moment coming in the fourth inning, when the Vikings turned a 7-4-3 triple play.

Brooks Nicely led the team at the plate with a double and a triple.

Huntington North’s record stands at 9-7, 3-2 in Northeast 8 Conference play.
