Netgirls to 3-0 win win over AC

The Huntington North High School varsity tennis team nipped host Adams Central on Thursday, April 12, to bring its season record to 3-0.

Second singles player Kassidy Thompson and the first doubles team of Macy Wohlford and Jule Nogaj each took three-setters to go with the straight-set win for Jessica Henline at first singles for the team victory.

Henline dominated Maddy DeRoos, 6-0, 6-1, but Thompson lost her first set to Lily Kintz, 2-6, before coming back in the next two 6-2, 6-0.

Wohlford and Nogaj clipped Sara Liter and Kyndall Roe, 7-6, in the first set, but fell 1-6 in the second before coming back for a 6-1 win in the third.

Tarah Zumbrun lost to Saige Rinkenberger at No. 3 singles, 2-6, 1-6. The second doubles team of Braxtyn Maroney and Leann Ringenberg lost in three sets to Rendi Degitz and Lauren Tijerina, 3-6, 6-1, 5-7.

The Lady Vikings’ junior varsity won 7-5 to also improve to 3-0. Singles winners were Emily Bokel, Emma Bickel and Maisy Kesler. Doubles winners were the teams of Crosley Stanley and Sydney Smekens, Mary Young and Lindsey Hunt, Gabi Haneline and Julia Crist and Chloe Hart and Haileigh Nissley.
