HU women eighth at CL Indoor Invitational

The Huntington University women’s track team claimed eighth place at the Crossroads League Indoor Invitational, held Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Nicole Pennington earned points for the Foresters in two events. She finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of :8.09 and eighth in the 200-meter dash by running a personal-record :27.26. Benedicte Nzombi-Fenner also ran the 60 meters and finished sixth in :8.19.

Elise Cormany and Alyssabeth Cottle each soared 8-11.25 in pole vault to claim fifth and sixth, respectively. Molly Mitchell took sixth in the 400-meter dash by clocking in at 1:02.83. Breanna Metz rounded out points collected in individual events with her eighth-place leap of 4-07.25 in high jump.

The Foresters placed seventh in three relays which included the 1,600-meter relay, 4:22.89; 3,200-meter relay, 10:53.70; and the distance medley relay, 14:18.11.

Taylor won the meet with 179 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan, 162; Marian, 134.5; Spring Arbor, 101.5; Bethel, 66; Saint Francis, 46; Mount Vernon, 45; Huntington, 26; and Goshen, 7.
