HU men ninth at CL Indoor Invite

The Huntington University men’s track team placed ninth at the Crossroads League Indoor Invitational, held Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10, at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Adam Woods claimed the Foresters’ only first place finish by winning the heptathlon with 3,837 points. For his efforts, he received all-conference honors.

Peyton Depriest set a personal record by clocking in at :50.68 in the 400-meter dash, good for fifth place. Avniel Barrow also posted a new personal best in the prelims of the 60-meter dash with a time of :6.98 on Friday. In the finals on Saturday, he clocked in at :7.09 to earn seventh place.

Bradey Gerke brought home a seventh-place badge in triple jump. His mark of 40-11 landed him the sixth spot in the Huntington record books.

The Foresters also earned a handful of points in the 1,600-meter relay, seventh in 3:32.04, and 3,200-meter relay, eighth in 8:20.68.

Indiana Wesleyan claimed the title with 151 points, followed by Taylor, 128.5; Bethel, 126.5; Marian, 110; Mount Vernon, 81; Spring Arbor, 63; Grace, 52; Saint Francis, 24; Huntington, 21; and Goshen, 8.
