Viking swimmers fall hard against Bluffton

Two individual seconds and three in relays were the best the Huntington North High School boys’ swim team could manage in a 120-50 loss to visiting Bluffton on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

Nathan York in the 100-yard backstroke and Cole Davidson in the 100-yard breaststroke got the individual seconds for the Vikings. York, a sophomore, touched the wall in 1:09.25 for his backstroke runner-up, and Davidson, a freshman, went 1:24.86 for his breaststroke runner-up.

Davidson was joined by senior Reid Dillion, junior Aidan Milelr and sophomore Jamal Werling for second in the 200-yard medley relay, in 2:13.97.

York was joined by Miller, Conner Mason and Keegan Mautz for second in the 200-yard freestyle relay, in 1:50.29.

Mautz, Mason, Davidson and York were the 400-yard freestyle relay team, placing second in 4:21.90.

Mason took a pair of thirds for HNHS, dong so in the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:18.99, and the 100-yard freestyle, in 1:02.15.

Other bronze finishes for the Vikings came from Mautz in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:31.62, Dillion in the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:53.62; and Miller in the 100 breast, in 1:29.95.
