Junior forward Tyler Arens had a career night with 32 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Huntington University men’s basketball team to a 92-83 triumph over host Grace College on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

The 6-8 Arens nailed 11 of 13 shots from the floor and all eight of his free throw tries as HU upped its record to 6-6 on the season, 2-2 in the Crossroads League.

Arens had plenty of help from his teammates as point guard Mike Bush added a double-double of 21 points and 10 assists and Devon Merder and Trevor Lockwood combined to hit 11 of 15 shots on the way to 14 and 12 points, respectively.

The Foresters ran out to a 48-34 lead at halftime, but Grace, 6-7, showed no quit and came back to within three points twice in the final minutes of the game, only to see HU spurt away.

Braxton Linville knocked down five triples on the way to tossing in 23 points to lead the Lancers. Erik Bowen scored 15 points and Logan Godfrey notched 12.

HU hit 35 of 62 shots from the field for 56.6 percent and knocked down 16 of 20 free throw tries for 80 percent. Grace hit 29 of 72 shots from the field for 40.3 percent and went 15 of 18 at the stripe for 83.3 percent.
