Mason gets two wins but HNHS swimboys lose opener

Conner Mason got two of the four Huntington North wins on the night as the HNHS boys’ swim team fell to host Canterbury, 88-49, on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in its first meet of the season.

Mason won the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:21.78, and was the only competitor in the 500-yard freestyle, in which he crossed the finish line in 6:41.30.

Keegan Mautz and Cole Davidson got the other HNHS wins. Mautz claimed the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.38 and Davidson took the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:29.42.

Mautz also grabbed a second place finish for the Vikings, doing so in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:35.54.

Nathan York collected two seconds for HNHS, finishing runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, in :27.48, and the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:15.19.

The Vikings also got seconds in the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay. York, Davidson, Conner and Mautz made up both relay teams.
