Knispel goal the difference in HU soccerwomen win

A goal by Matea Knispel was the difference in a 1-0 victory for the Huntington University women’s soccer team over host Taylor University on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Knispel, a junior, tallied her goal at the 33:50 mark in the opening half. The score was her 17th of the year, which leads the team.

The Foresters, 9-7-2, 5-3-1 in the Crossroads League, produced seven shots for the game, five of which were on goal. Sophomore Bailey O’Dell logged two of those shots on frame.

Senior Paige Coolman went the distance in goal, recording two saves to seal the shutout win, her fifth of the season.

The Trojans slip to 11-6-1, 4-4-1 in league action.

Taylor goalie Lauren Engelkes made four stops while yielding Knispel’s score to take the loss.
