13th annual Pathfinder Kids Kampus Turkey Trot coming up

Pathfinder Kids Kampus will host the 13th annual Turkey Trot 5K run/walk and one-mile Turkey Trail on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 23.

The event, with McDonald’s of Huntington as host sponsor, will start at 8 a.m.  

Proceeds benefit the children and families served by Pathfinder Kids Kampus.  

Online registration is available at www.kidskampus.org. The first 1,000 people who register will receive a long sleeve technical shirt and early registration is encouraged for choice of size.  

The registration fee is discounted for those who register online or by mail by Nov. 21.

Those who register in advance have the option of picking up their packets, which contain shirts, race numbers and chips, on Nov. 22 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Pathfinder Kids Kampus, 435 Campus St., Huntington.

The 2017 event begins with registration from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Thanksgiving morning at McDonald’s, followed by the 5K at 8 a.m. and one-mile Turkey Trail at 8:30 a.m. Ronald McDonald will again start the races. The event will be chip timed by e-Runner Timing and Results.

An Outta Town Turkey Trot is also available for those who will not be in the area on Thanksgiving, but still wish to support the event and get a race shirt.

Last year, 1,015 people participated in the Turkey Trot and raised more than $28,000 in support of the programs and services offered to the children and families served by Pathfinder Kids Kampus.
