HU harriers 11th at Bethel Invite

The Huntington University men’s cross country team placed 11th out of 14 teams at the Bethel College Invitational on Friday evening, Oct. 6.

Kevin Moser ran to a time of 27:31.5 over the eight-kilometer course to pace the HU men with 41st place out of 178 runners.

Former HNHS standout Elijah Chesterman placed 47th for HU in 27:51.4 and Adrien Gentie placed 60th in 28:27.2. Elston Jones placed 69th in 29:02.7 and CJ Robertson was 71st in 29:05.9 to complete the scoring.

Cornerstone won the race with 63 points, followed by Taylor with 83, Aquinas with 92, Marian with 133 and Madonna with 145. HU had 288 points for its finish.

Zach McIntyre finished 79th for HU in 29:24.4 and Kody Ahrens took 80th in 29:27.3 to round out the Foresters’ top seven runners.

In the women’s race, HU started with the minimum of five runners, but ended with four so no team score was recorded.

Bianca Tisdale turned in a time of 21:08.0 for the five kilometers for 10th place to lead HU. Aspen Dirr finished in 21:20.0 for 120th, Rachael Smelser claimed 152nd in 22:09.7 and MacKenzie Bobeck ran a 23:49.1 for 180th.
