HU soccermen trounce USF

The Huntington University men’s soccer team trounced host University of Saint Francis, 5-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The Foresters scored twice in the opening half and three more times in the second to improve to 5-2-3, 1-0-1 in the Crossroads League.

Jake Erlandson, Ihsan Basaran, Miguel de Sousa, Luke Unger and Ty Sproat tallied the Huntington goals. Matheus Louzada, Noah Fleming and de Sousa each provided an assist.

The Foresters racked up 14 shots for the game, with 12 coming on goal.

Troy Hester and Blake Cooke split goalkeeping duties for Huntington. Hester handled the first 73:37 minutes before Cooke handled the final 16:23 to cap the shutout.

With the loss, USF drops to 3-8, 0-2 in league action.
