Lady Vike spikers come back on Bellmont

The Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team shook off a first set loss to capture the next three games and the match against visiting Bellmont, 3-1, on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

The Lady Vikings fell in the first game, 22-25, but prevailed 25-19, 25-19, 25-22 to improve to 22-8 on the season.

Junior Macy Niswander swung the big stick for Coach Trinda Goings’ squad, knocking down 14 kills, while senior Kailtyn Stephan did her thing with 40 assists and three aces.

Brette Fawcett and Maddy Robrock led the defense with 23 digs and two blocks, respectively.

The Huntington North junior varsity fell in two games, 16-25, 17-25.

Erika Vinson and Taylor Reust led the offense with four kills apiece, and Morgan Robrock had 10 assists. Reust also had two aces for the Lady Vikes, 15-13.

Macy Campbell had seven digs on defense and Reust had three blocks.

The Lady Viking freshman lost for only the third time this season, 0-2, on scores of 22-25, 20-25.

Preslee Wiliams had four kills and four assists for HNHS, 22-3. Alexa Spahr had four assists, and on defense she and Victoria Myers each had seven digs.

Maddison Levy added two blocks.
