The Huntington University women’s soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to host Indiana Tech on Tuesday evening, Sept. 5
Lily Rothert scored a pair of goals about a minute apart in the first half to give USF a 2-0 lead, but the Foresters’ Brandi Spear cut the margin to one with her first goal of the year off an Audra Klopfenstein throw-in at the 22:12 mark. Unfortunately, the Forester had an “own” goal to put the margin back to 3-1, and neither team scored in the second half.
The Foresters fell to 0-2-1 on the season.
Forester goalkeeper Paige Coolman had 11 saves but was tagged with the loss.
USF outshot Huntington, 20-10.
