Lady Vike golfers second at own invite

Led by two players in the top 10, the Huntington North High School girls’ varsity golf team opened its season with a runner-up finish at its own invitational on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Norwood Golf Course, in Huntington.

Junior Amara Eckert and senior Jaclyn Boyd each fired an 88 for the Lady Vikings, with Eckert placing ninth and Boyd claiming 10th. Junior Laura Ham carded a 91 and junior Crosley Stanley posted a 93 to cap the team’s score at 360. Senior Sarah Malone shot a non-scoring 102.

Bishop Dwenger won the invitational with a score of 319. The Lady Saints placed all four of their scoring golfers in the event’s top five. Sarah Frazier highlighted the quartet’s efforts with a 73, which earned her medalist honors.
