Mackenzi Cannici, a recently graduated standout from the Huntington North High School softball team, competed in the Indiana North/South All-Star Game on Saturday, June 17, at the Cherry Tree Softball Complex, in Carmel.

Cannici was selected as an all-star by District II coaches from the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association. A shortstop and centerfielder, Cannici suited up for the North team, which won the opening game and was defeated in the second.

Cannici leaves Huntington North as the softball program’s leader in career batting average, at .524. The slugger banged out 121 hits in 231 career at bats.

Twice named to the Northeast Eight Conference’s First Team, Cannici will be continuing her softball career at Trine University, in Angola, this fall.
